Edmund's Journey through Narnia

Creating this piece was a very special experience for me. The Chronicles of Narnia are the the first series of books that I read from beginning to end as a young reader and left a deep impression on me.  Later when I was a little older, I was fortunate enough to play the part of Lucy in a theatrical production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  I am still dear friends with so many of the people that worked on that show with me.

One of which played the part of Edmund. I was blessed to be asked by him to create a painting for him of Edmund in Narnia.

Carving Pumpkins Make Grim Happy

Watercolor Painted on a page from Edgar Allan Poe's the Pit and the Pendulum
I love imagining that Grim carries his pumpkin around with him like a teddy bear.

Making some more progress on the Haunted Mansion Demon Wallpaper.

Painting the Haunted Mansion Wallpaper Part 1

Grim Grinning Ghosts Come Out to Socialize!!

Starting to paint the first layer of color on my Haunted Mansion Demon Wallpaper.  I have been obsessed with the Haunted Mansion from the time I was seven years old.  I just love the chills you get as you ride in your DoomBuggie through the corridor of doors, past the thirteen-hour demon clock with hundreds of eyes from the wallpaper watching you...

Here I'm laying own the base color for all of the demons in acrylic paint. Each of the demons were hand sketched onto the canvas.  A LOT of work! But totally worth it! Now the fun part begins and I get to start bringing some of the 999 Happy Haunts out to play!
